Declaration on the Use of Wheel Balancing Weights Containing Lead in the EU

Materials for passenger vehicles and light commercial vehicles with a mass fraction of more than 0.1% lead are forbidden in the European Union. This also applies to spare parts for such vehicle categories that contain lead, and in particular to wheel balancing weights.

Therefore Wegmann wishes to point out to business partners that the use of lead wheel balancing weights in passenger vehicles and light commercial vehicles is forbidden in the European Union.

In this context, the business partner declares as follows:

  1. We have received the fact sheet on the use of wheel balancing weights containing lead in the European Union in the version dated 24th August 2016.
  2. We commit ourselves to Wegmann to observe the statutory regulations set out in the fact sheet.
  3. We have arranged for or shall promptly arrange for suitable internal measures to ensure compliance with the statutory provisions set out in the fact sheet.

Declaration on the Use of Lead Wheel Balancing Weights for Exportation to Non-EU Member States

Materials for passenger vehicles and light commercial vehicles with a mass fraction of more than 0.1% lead are forbidden in the European Union. This also applies to spare parts for such vehicle categories that contain lead, and in particular to wheel balancing weights.

Therefore Wegmann wishes to point out to business partners that putting lead wheel balancing weights for passenger vehicles and light commercial vehicles on the market is forbidden in the European Union, and these may therefore be used exclusively for the purpose of exportation to nonEU Member States.

In this context, the business partner declares as follows:

  1. We commit ourselves to Wegmann to observe the stated statutory regulations and to use the said lead wheel balancing weights exclusively for the purpose of exportation to non-EU Member States.
  2. We have arranged for or shall arrange for suitable internal measures to ensure that the said lead wheel balancing weights are not put on the market in the European Union.
