Product number: 5361-0050-201
Original part Hofmann Power Weight adhesive weight from: PORSCHE, VOLKSWAGEN, VOLVO, FORD, OPEL. The balancing weights have a thickness of 3.8 mm including adhesive tape. The width of the adhesive weights is 15 mm for 5 - 10 g and 19 mm for all higher grammages. From 10 grams upwards the balancing weights are provided with one notch, from 30 grams with two notches, from 40 grams with three notches and from 55 grams with four notches. This makes it easier to shape the wheel to the rim radius. Made in GermanyWhy should you balance tyres at all?At a speed of 100 km/h the centrifugal force of a 10 g unbalance acts like the force of a sledge hammer. This makes wheels without balancing weights a danger: Without adhesive weights on steel and aluminium rims, wheel suspensions and bearings are subjected to greater stress. Missing balancing weights on aluminium and steel rims can also lead to noticeable vibrations at the steering wheel and in the interior. In addition, non-existent adhesive bars result in increased brake and tyre wear.Assembly of adhesive weights:Basically the rim surface must be free of grease, silicone, dust and dry before mounting the adhesive weights. The processing temperature of the adhesive weights must not fall below 10 °C and the surface for attachment to the rim must not exceed a maximum bevel of 15 °C from the hub direction.Picture may differ slightly from the article (without fingerlift) Fingerliftno
Safety weight - Typ 280, 10 g, zinc, silver
Product number: 5280-0100-001
Original part Hofmann Power Weights safety weight from: VW COMMERCIAL VEHICLES, VOLVO The 5 gram weights are made of plastic. VOLVO light alloy rims: Balancing weight 280 combined with spring B3 (manufacturer's part number: 5812-7410-301). Made in Germany Why should you balance tyres at all?At a speed of 100 km/h the centrifugal force of a 10 g unbalance acts like the force of a sledge hammer. This makes wheels without balancing weights a danger: Without spoke weights on steel and aluminium rims, wheel suspensions and bearings are subjected to more stress. Missing balancing weights on steel and aluminium rims can also lead to noticeable vibrations at the steering wheel and in the interior. In addition, the absence of spoke weights results in increased brake and tyre wear.Mounting of safety weights:Using the tyre bead breaker tongues, press the tyre at the point where the balancing weight is to be mounted until the rim flange is exposed. Insert the holding spring at the desired point. Remove the tyre impression tongues. This causes the holding spring to be pressed between the rim flange and the tyre and is firmly seated. Then lift the spring with the clip lifting tool until the weight body can be pushed under the spring. Push the balancing weight of the desired grammage centrally under the spring.

In addition, the absence of spoke weights results in increased brake and tyre wear.Assembly of spoke weights:Depending on the spoke nipple diameter, Hofmann Power Weight balancing weights are used. The fixing of the spoke weights takes place in the middle of the rim on the spoke nipple.Spoke weights for spoke wheels are hammered onto the spoke nipple with the Hofmann Power Weight hammering tool 385/1. This is the only way to avoid assembly errors. This tool is used to transmit the force required for safe and precise clamping of the balancing weight. Assembly with other tools or the use of spoke weights that are only compressed with tongues can cause the weights to come loose during operation.Afterwards, simply check that the spoke weight is firmly seated on the spoke nipple!

This makes tyres without balancing weights a danger: Impact weights for steel rims and balancing weights for aluminium rims prevent higher stress on wheel suspensions and bearings. Missing balancing weights on steel and aluminium rims can also lead to noticeable vibrations at the steering wheel and in the interior. In addition, the absence of impact weights on steel or aluminium rims results in increased brake and tyre wear.Assembly of impact weights:First of all, the suitable impact weight for steel rims or aluminium rims must be selected.
