Safety weight spring - B1 (for type 274), steel, silver

Product information "Safety weight spring - B1 (for type 274), steel, silver"
Holding spring Hofmann Power Weights B1 applicable for safety weights of type 274 Made in Germany Why should you balance tyres at all?

At a speed of 100 km/h the centrifugal force of a 10 g unbalance acts like the force of a sledge hammer. This makes wheels without balancing weights a danger: Without spoke weights on steel and aluminium rims, wheel suspensions and bearings are subjected to more stress. Missing balancing weights on steel and aluminium rims can also lead to noticeable vibrations at the steering wheel and in the interior. In addition, the absence of spoke weights results in increased brake and tyre wear.

Mounting of safety weights:

Using the tyre bead breaker tongues, press the tyre at the point where the balancing weight is to be mounted until the rim flange is exposed. Insert the holding spring at the desired point. Remove the tyre impression tongues. This causes the holding spring to be pressed between the rim flange and the tyre and is firmly seated.

Then lift the spring with the clip lifting tool until the weight body can be pushed under the spring. Push the balancing weight of the desired grammage centrally under the spring. Tilt the clip lifting tool back slowly so that the holding spring can engage in the recess provided in the weight body.
